DataRobot at the Snowflake Data Cloud Summit

DataRobot is a proud sponsor of Snowflake’s Data Cloud Summit 2020, which takes place on November 17, 2020. The Snowflake Summit serves as a great opportunity to learn about key Snowflake partners, including DataRobot. As the leader in enterprise AI, our partnership with Snowflake, the leading cloud data platform, simplifies the movement of data for AI and machine learning, accelerating time to value for joint customers.

Join us at 10:20 AM PST as we present DataRobot + Snowflake: Retaining Customers and Increasing Business Profits. The DataRobot team will discuss our elite partnership with Snowflake and share how joint customers, such as US Foods, a foodservice distributor who analyzes data from over 300,000 customers for predictive insights, are using our technologies to address customer retention and churn. Session attendees will also see a demo that shows how easy it is to use AI and automated machine learning to retain customers, grow an organization, increase profits, and build brand value. And the learning won’t stop there. If you like what you see during the session, we provide step-by-step guidance for replicating the process for yourself in the Virtual Hands-On Lab with Snowflake.

Advanced Authentication with Snowflake

In addition to our sponsorship of the Snowflake Data Cloud Summit, we are also pleased to announce the addition of OAuth/Single Sign-On authentication functionality to our Snowflake integration. This functionality, which will go live on DataRobot’s Managed Cloud offering on November 30, allows customers to more seamlessly integrate DataRobot and Snowflake while adhering to the strictest enterprise security standards. As the only AI/machine learning-focused partner to support this level of security, DataRobot is ready to operationalize your AI/machine learning workloads with Snowflake!

How It Works

Admin Steps

If you’re a Snowflake admin with the ACCOUNTADMIN role, follow the steps in Configure Snowflake OAuth Integration to get the client ID and secret that will be used to identify the DataRobot application to Snowflake when users authenticate. You only need to do this once.

The callback URL form is:  https://yoururl.datarobot.com/account/snowflake/snowflake_authz_return

If you’re a SaaS customer, the callback URL is: https://app.datarobot.com/account/snowflake/snowflake_authz_return

User Steps

For users connecting to Snowflake, the process is the same as for all other data connections, except for the authentication step.

Step 1: In the AI Catalog, click New Data Connection

Step 2: Select Snowflake from the list.

Step 3: Configure your connection.

Enter a name for your data connection and then configure the following required fields.

  • address
  • db
  • warehouse

There are three new fields that do not require editing:

  • OAuthRefreshToken
  • OAuth Type
  • OAuthAccessToken

Click Save.

Step 4: Test the connection.

Click Test connection.

Step 5: Enter the client ID and secret.

Your admin can provide these values.

Step 6: Click Sign in using Snowflake.

Congratulations! You have successfully authenticated your Snowflake connection using OAuth and are on your way to faster more accurate AI!
